Recommendations for design and implementation of PBRTQC laboratory protocols

Subject Recommendation
Management of PBRTQC settings When PBRTQC is used, the appropriateness of the settings has to be guarded in a proactive manner to ensure and maintain an acceptable false alarm rate
PBRTQC alarm actions PBRTQC alarm actions to be considered include:
- Stop result reporting from the affected instrument
- Move samples to an alternative instrument
- Determine whether an analytical error occurred and, if so, determine the size of the error
- Initiate troubleshooting protocol
PBRTQC alarm workup PBRTQC alarm workup steps to be considered are:
- Analyze internal quality control
- Reanalyze recently measured samples on alternative analyzer
- Run external quality control
- Review recently obtained results from affected assay
Recovery from PBRTQC alarm Reset/restart PBRTQC calculations after PBRTQC workup completion
